Hunter Valley Wine Country asks larger groups to book before arriving, and each cellar door sets its own rules. Recent examples: Audrey Wilkinson caps walk-in groups at 8, Peterson House runs group tastings for 9 to 16 people, and Allandale asks groups of 7 to 10 to book. Sample group day in the Hunter Valley
- 8:00am: pickup in Sydney. About 2 hours via the M1.
- 10:15am: first cellar door tasting. The Hunter is known for Semillon.

- 12:30pm: group lunch at a winery restaurant, booked by you.
