Hunter Valley Christmas Lights 2026 dates and times
- Season: Friday 30 October 2026 to Sunday 31 January 2027, every night except Christmas Day (closed 25 December).
- Lights: 5:30pm to 10:30pm, last entry 9:30pm. Rides run 6pm to 10pm.
- Plan: at least 2 hours at the lights.
- Where: Hunter Valley Gardens, Broke Road, Pokolbin NSW, about 2 hours' drive from Sydney (around 160 to 170 km).

Christmas lights tickets
Buy your entry tickets directly from Hunter Valley Gardens. Their 2026 night tickets are listed at A$42 per adult and A$31 per child aged 4 to 15. Family passes are available, and children 3 and under are free but still need a ticket. Tickets are for the session you book, and the Gardens recommend buying online before you go. Ticket prices are set by the Gardens and are not included in our car price.
A sample Christmas lights evening from Sydney
- Around 2:30pm to 3:30pm: pickup from your Sydney home, hotel or the airport.
- Late afternoon: arrive in the Hunter Valley. Add a cellar door, cheese or chocolate stop, or an early dinner in Pokolbin if you like.
- From 5:30pm: walk through the lights for 2 hours or more at your own pace.
- After the lights: your driver is ready when you are, and the kids can sleep on the way home.
